Blah, Blah, Blah

Gahh, what to say… it’s been a while. You pretty much think I left the site, huh? Well, you’re wrong. In fact, I attend to the site for almost 80% of the week… also, 86% of statistics are made up on the spot, but that’s irrelevant… haha. Truth is, I just didn’t really have much to say. School is finally out for me, so I can spend a bit more time on the site over my summer break, which is nice. I have 2 new videos in the works right now, one of which is that blasted Mario Kart video my team and I have had so much “fun” making. Actually, it is fun, but it’s annoying when some scenes don’t come out the way I want to. Ehhhh, so anyway, what else? What’s new on your end, faithful reader? Anything interesting? We have some nice people lurking in the community page, so why not head over there to chat and such?? Oh yes, so another thing. If you’ve been regularly visiting the site, which I doubt (hah), you may have seen an “emissary” page pop-up. Actually, a few of you do stop by regularly, and I thank you for this, and I know a few of you have signed up for said emissary, but as you can see, I decided to trash that idea. It would of been similar to the adventure plot, which was sorta fun, but not many participated. So, in it’s place, I’m working on a new page, named the “rendezvous”. If you don’t know what that means, that look it up. Also, look up how to pronounce it. After you do all that, I promise, this will be your new favorite word in which you will try to insert in casual conversations. :] But yeah, that’s gonna be a neat page, and what’s better is that YOU have no idea what to expect from a page like this!

Also, you may of seen Laura’s new comic of #1.2, but if you haven’t, go check that out on the “nintastic” section of the community page, it’s awesome. Well, as far as other things go, I am working on stuff “behind-the-scenes”, as well as the 2 new videos, so just keep stopping by to check what’s new! Of course, if you get email updates from me, you shall continue to receive said updates. Cheers!

Midnight Madness

The site sure has been quiet lately. This is a direct result of me “hard at work” on school stuff as the final stretch of my junior year of high school approaches. Finals, AP/IB Exams, Essays, Projects… it’s all overwhelming. And I must say, April 27th did sneak up on me. Before I knew it, Mario Kart Wii was coming out. Whoa, already?! What was Nintendo thinking releasing 2 huge big name AAA titles within 2 months? Well, I won’t question it, even though I sorta just did. ANYWAY, with a new game, comes a new video… actually I just made that up. But seriously though, I am a big fan of Mario Kart. And the latest installment comes with a Wii Wheel (Yes, that’s right, “Wii Wheel”… just say that out loud – it’s quite awkward to say)! So, when school is finally out, the trio behind the films will once again pull out another video, tentatively titled “Mario Kart Mayhem”. It should be great, and funny as always. I look forward to making it.So, you are now wondering, what the title of the post is about. When I said that the 27th sneaked up on me, I wasn’t kidding. I knew my local Sam’s was opening at midnight to sell the game (for $44.66) and extra wheels (for $8.66), so I thought (5 hours before midnight), why not grab my pals and shoot something there to see what happens?! The end result is a now-dubbed PREQUEL to the next NB video – click here. :]

At Last, I Return…

… to the videos, that is. Ha, yes. The site, NintendoBoy.com, is about my videos. However the last time I released a video (Timebomb) was on December 31st, 2007, but I couldn’t get it uploaded online until the first of 2008. Heh, you could say it took a year to do. Or not. Eh, I’m just writing all this on the blog post as it comes to me. I like doing posts this way because I feel like it’s first off, easy reading, and also because I like the updates to have sort of a laid back feel. I think that I somewhat achieve that, no? I mean, you are reading this right now and have made it this far, haha! Uh, so anyway, what was I saying?? Oh right, the videos…!Yeah, so it’s been up since last Friday, April 11th. It’s gotten over 200 hits on YouTube in less than a week. Not bad for a site which hadn’t released any new content since January 1st this year. Ah well. So, “Troubleshooting”. The first new video since the trilogy. Wow. Haha. You could say that there have been some good improvements. I really had a great time filming with Josh Indech and Andrew Shain. Indech is one of my best buds at school and with band geek stuff, and Shain is also the same, but a bit odd. Ha, he’ll never read that. He’s funny, and his camera and spiffy Mac proved to be an ally whilst making the film. I had originally planned to write a script and make this video an extremely awesome comeback for the site, but eh, to say the least I was lazy. So, I headed over to Shain’s house script-less (but with great plans in my head… haha) to take on this project we’d finally make time for. As you can probably notice, things went really well. Yeah, the video is not perfect, and things could (and probably should) of been changed, but it was an oh-so-satisifying thing for me when completed. After all, this is what this unusually colorful website is all about, right?! So, with that being said… and hopefully seen, what do you think? The video on YouTube has seen some great comments so far, so thanks guys! The video is on the home page until the next video (which I do plan to work on soon) comes, and of course the videos will always have a spot at The Nintendo Boy Project page. There was a thread stated in the forums about a Q&A of the video, so feel free to look at that. And, so uh yeah, I think that’s it. Hey, I needed to make a formal post about the video, but again, a combination of laziness and other-things-to-do-ness kept me from doing it earlier… better late then never, right? :]
